The Revival Era: a post-apocalyptic survival team building for teams in Dubai
The Revival Era is an outdoor survival team building that SL PEOPLE EVENTS runs for corporate teams in Dubai. The group is split into clans, each electing its elder, and every clan is armed with a tablet and our own game app for the race to secure the last resources of a post-apocalyptic world. Over two hours the teams search the wasteland, decode signals, build working mechanisms out of scrap and read the ground for what has changed. It is run at Last Exit, 50 km from Downtown Dubai, for 20 to 80 people and it ends with the points the clans earned being converted into ghaf trees planted in the UAE.
The Revival Era
Resources are almost gone. What is left is scattered across a wasteland of sand, rust and the wreckage of everything that came before — and only those who can work together will get to it first.
The group is no longer a group. It becomes clans, each with its own story and its own goal, and each clan elects the leader who will lead it. The tablet is the only real tool anyone has: it finds the resources, it decodes what the old world left behind, and it is where every strategic decision gets made.
From there it is a race. Some of it is pure search — hidden supplies, encrypted maps, objects nobody was meant to find. Some of it happens on the screen. And some of it happens with bare hands: mechanisms that have to be assembled, equipment that has to be repaired, hazards that have to be worked around before the clan can move on.
At the end of the race the points each clan earned are converted into money, and that money buys the seeds of the ghaf: the tree the Emirates hold sacred, a symbol of endurance and of life in the desert. Ghaf trees have held this land for centuries, giving shade, holding water in the ground and housing hundreds of living things.
The trees are planted the next day, and a ghaf lives more than 120 years. Which means every person who was in the wasteland that afternoon can say the same thing: I left a mark. I made this place better than I found it.
The certificate the host carries out is not a prize. It is proof that the team was not only playing — it was building something that stays.
This team building brings together the best of the physical and the digital world, and every challenge in it tests the same four things: logic, attention, teamwork and the ability to make a decision quickly.

The weight of the wasteland
Where every decision is a question of survival and there is always less than the clan needs, precision is worth more than gold. In front of the team is a sack of objects - food, boots, unexpected finds from the deep wasteland. The task sounds simple and is not: cut one object so that the two halves are exactly equal. The scales do not lie. They show who felt the balance and who was hoping to get lucky, and the clans take the blade one after another.
Source of life
The path started with searching: parts pulled out of the sand, schematics decoded, lost knowledge recovered. Now comes the engineering. Out of the rubbish of the old world - plastic containers, tubing, valves - the clan has to build a working desert tap: something that lets them wash and take water with them, running with no electricity at all, on the laws of nature and nothing else. Resources are almost gone, and one miscalculation can cost the clan its last drop.
Hunting the change
The past is buried under sand and the future depends on who is paying attention. The clan is given a photograph taken by scouts and has to go out into the wasteland and find the place. But something there is different. Someone may have left a sign. A detail may be missing. Or time may have made the edit itself. Compare the picture to what is actually in front of you, work out every difference, enter them into the system - because one of those changes is a clue and another may be a warning.
Voices of the past
Through the noise of a sandstorm, the crackle of radio interference and the sound of the desert itself, a voice cuts in. It is not just sound - it is a message from the depths of a lost world. The clan has to break the code: forgotten radio frequencies, Morse, phrases running backwards, words distorted by time. Analyse the recording, find the key, enter the answer in the app. Only the ones who can listen properly move on.
