Reboot Energy: a digital team quest through The Dubai Mall
Reboot Energy is a digital quest team building programme that SL PEOPLE EVENTS runs for corporate teams inside The Dubai Mall. Dubai is a city that took an extraordinary amount of energy and reinvented itself, and for one afternoon the team becomes part of that energy: every challenge solved earns energons - symbolic particles of energy that power the future - credited automatically the moment the right answer goes into the system. The route is built on search and photo missions across the mall, and it ends above the city, on the Burj Khalifa, with one shared photograph. The programme runs in English or Russian for groups of 20 to 70 people and takes 2-2,5 hours.
Reboot Energy
We are standing in the middle of a city of the future.
A city that took an extraordinary amount of energy and was reborn from it. Everything here is built on transformation, on nerve, on the willingness to try what has not been done before. Dubai does not simply exist - it sets the pace for the rest of the planet.
Today the team becomes part of that energy.
Every mission solved along the route earns energons: symbolic particles of energy that power the future. They are credited automatically, the moment the right answer goes into the system, and every one of them is a contribution to something the whole group is building together rather than to a personal score.
And when the route is done, the teams go up. Not for the view, and not for a selfie at altitude - for one photograph taken above the city, at the point where a company decides that this is its new starting line.

How the quest runs
How the quest runs
Two parts: the route through the mall, and the finale above the city.
- 01Teams are formed
We split the group with our own software, and the moment a hand is placed on the screen the game has already started. Each team then chooses the captain who will keep it moving.
- 02The app is opened
Every team works from a tablet with our game app: the route, the missions, the photo tasks and the scoreboard all live in one place. Answers go straight into the system, so nobody waits for a judge.
- 03Earning energons
Teams move through the mall solving search and photo missions. A correct answer credits energons automatically, and the standings change in front of everyone - which is exactly what keeps the pace up in the second half.
- 04The climb
When the route is complete, the teams go up the Burj Khalifa - closer to the future they have spent the afternoon powering.
- 05The photograph
One shared photo at the top of the world: participants holding the letters that spell WIN, VICTORY and LOVE. Three energies, one team, and a clear line between what came before and what starts now.
Missions
Sample missions
Every mission is solved on foot, with the app in hand and the whole mall as the playing field.
The shopfront
A fragment of a window display and an encoded hint — a floor and a zone, or a line about where the air smells of coffee and cardamom.
Shop window
The app shows a fragment of a shop window - part of a logo, an unusual mannequin, an art object - with the location encrypted in the hint. Sometimes it is a code like "E2A": level 2, zone A. Sometimes it is a line like "where the air smells of coffee and cardamom". The team has to work out where that is, find it, and either scan the QR code hidden inside the photograph or answer the question attached to the window.
Three signs
The team is given the names of three shops and has to build a clue out of them: an anagram, an acronym, or simply the first letters. Three signs whose initials read B-U-N send the team looking for the place that sells buns. Find the right spot, upload the photo, take the energons.
Future quiz
Questions about the technologies of the future and about what the UAE and Dubai have already built: flying taxis, the tallest building in the world, islands shaped from the sea. Multiple choice, answered inside the app, and a fast way for a team to claw back the points it lost on the route.
True colour
A tiny black-and-white fragment of a photograph taken somewhere in the mall: part of a column, a statuette, the edge of a fountain. The team has to find the original object and name its real colour - which means walking past it is not enough, they have to actually look. .
What we adapt for you
- The route. The length and the number of points are set by the size of your group and the time you have.
- The questions. The quiz can include your company's own milestones alongside the achievements of the UAE.
- The final word. WIN, VICTORY and LOVE is our default. If your event has its own message, the teams can hold that instead.
- The finale. The climb is the natural ending, but the quest also works as a standalone route through the mall if the schedule is tight.
